Home Improvement Project with Blinds Made Out of Wood

I'm always on a never-ending quest to beautify and spruce up my condo, and lately I've been undergoing a revival of sorts in trying to get my home to look a certain way. I'm trying for a more earthy tone in my place because I want to add a little flower garden outside, and I feel a more earthy tone inside will bring everything together. I'm therefore going for a more wooden feel inside my living room, but there was one problem.

My windows, they looked awful. They looked fine for my previous design aspirations, but for the new look I was going for, they didn't work at all. They looked far too...fake...too plasticy, too old. Whatever words to use, they just didn't fit, so I decided I'd have to get all new frames to match the wooden theme I'm going for in the house as a whole. Not only that, the blinds would have to be changed as well. I've not purchased blinds in a long time because I was happy with the set I had, but now I had to look, and my how things had changed.

All sorts of new blinds were available, so many so it was nearly overwhelming. I went to so many places, both in stores and online, and finally settled on smithandnoble.com. They were a little more expensive than other brands, but I figured if I don't want to buy blinds again for a long time. Was it too much, however? Blinds made out of wood? Would it be too much?

After receiving the blinds, I installed them fairly easily. It didn't take long to realize that they fit perfectly into the new decor. After a couple of weeks with them installed I'm pretty happy with them. I think I'll keep them for quite a long time.
